Anti Hijack An Anti-Hijack System is an electronic system fitted to motor vehicles to deter criminals from hijacking them. There are three basic principles on which the systems work on. PSI supply and install a variety of systems Lockout This is activated when the vehicle drops below a certain speed or becomes stationary, and will cause all of the vehicles doors to automatically lock this stops thieves stealing the vehicle when it is stopped at traffic lights or pedestrian crossing. Transponder This is probably the most common anti-hijack system and a central locking system The system is always armed until a device carried by the driver is in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle. As the transponder is concealed, the thief would not know the system is active they had stolen and moved the vehicle out of range of the driver Microswitch This system is always armed and is activated if one of the vehicle doors is opened and closed again whilst the engine is running. If the system is not disarmed in the time window set by the driver, it will warn the driver by sounding the vehicles horn and flashing the hazard lights. The system then disables the engine.
